Happy Birthday

December 31, 2014

Changing up from Christmas cards, here's a birthday card I made.  My supply of birthday cards are depleted and I need to get them up fast.  I have one more birthday card to send out in December along with Christmas cards.  Then come January I have 5 birthdays and in February I have another 5 birthdays plus Valentine's Day cards for my girls, and in March 10 birthdays.  So I need to get busy.  Plus you need extras because you never know when someone will ask you to make a card for them and you don't want to be overwhelmed.  Especially when you're a full time single mom and  with a full time job.  So time to make cards is limited and precious.  Trying to use up my stash.  Don't want to bring these scraps into the New Year.

Happy Birthday Sis

Happy birthday sisters:

Here's a card I made for my sisters.  I have quite a few birthdays in the beginning of the year, so I made a bunch of cards to have ready to send out.  I made 2 versions of this card for my 2 sisters who's birthdays are on January 5 and 24.  The card base is from Papertry Ink and the design paper I think I got from Michael's .  The stamp and sentiment is from Gina K and was heat embossed and then cut out with Spellbinder's oval die and sponged with Tim Holtz distress inks.  I like how they came out.

Enjoy, and remember to keep scrappin2heaven.

Christmas Bells

December 29, 2014

Here's a card I did last year, but didn't get it done in time to send it out.  Before I send it out this year, I wanted to share it with you guys.  This card has a lot of glitter and sparkle.  I love how it turned out, but it was very time consuming.  I had to wait for each section to dry before I could go on to the next color glitter.  When you have a lot of cards to send out and you're trying to mass produce, this is not the card to make.  But, for my first attempt I think it came out really nice.

It's done on clear acetate paper. and then backed on white card stock which is then layered on red cardstsock.

Happy New Year Birthday

Happy Birthday Ms. Eula:

My daughter's paternal grandmother will be celebrating her birthday on New Years Day.  Wanted to extend to her a very happy and healthy birthday and new year.  Here's a card I made for her using up my scraps.  The image is stamped using a Gina K stamp and heat embossed with gold embossing powder.  The ribbon is from my stash.  I hope she likes the card.

More Christmas Cards

November 28, 2014

Here's another version of the Magnolia Christmas card.  I love coloring this image, even though it is time consuming.  Again, for this card base I'm using Papertrey Ink cardstock.  The design papers are again from my stash.  The image is die cut with my Spellbinders Deckled Rectangle die, one of my favorite dies.  I'll be posting more Christmas cards soon.  Hope you like the card.  More to come.

Happy Thanksgiving

November 26, 2014

Tomorrow we will be celebrating Thanksgiving Day in the U.S.  Although every day we should give thanks, this is the day that we all over America come together to give thanks to God for all He has done for us.  As I sit her reflecting on all that is happening here in America lately, I feel like we've lost our sense of self and what made us the great nation we used to be.  We're more focused on things than on people, on ourselves rather than on our neighbors.  Jesus had it right when the disciple asked him what was the greatest commandment and he answered that the greatest commandment is Love. If we as a nation can learn to love our neighbor as ourselves, and stop looking at the color of the skin, or what nationality a person is, or their sexual orientation I believe that then we can start becoming the great nation we used to be.  We need to learn to love and respect the person, and let God deal with the sin.  But I digress.  I just popped in to wish everyone a wonderful and happy Thanksgiving, and I wanted to show you the Christmas cards I've been making up.

The card base is from Papertrey Ink, the design papers are from my scraps.  The stamp is from Magnolia Stamps, she's colored in with Copic Marks and cut out with Spellbinder Deckled Rectangles.

That's it for now.  Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Happy Birthday Lil Sis

9/27/14

Here's a card I made for my baby sister's birthday this month, although she's not a baby.  Can't tell you her age, she'd kill me. [LOL!].  Suffice to say she has 3 grown children, Her 2 oldest work in the NYC Public School system and have given her 3 beautiful grandchildren and her youngest is a NYC police officer.  I used Paper Tray Ink cardstock, http://www.papertreyink.com/ and design paper from my stash.  The stamp is from Gina K http://shop.ginakdesigns.com/and was colored in with my Copic markers.  The black brads are actually made using my Viva Decor Pearl Pen in black..  I like how fast this card was to put together.  I think I'll mass produce a couple of these babies and have them ready for future cards or as part of a card set for gifts for the holidays.  This can be a birthday card, sympathy card, get well card or even a thank you card.  You can switch up the colors also.  I really do like this style.  Can't wait until I have more time to really play around with this design.  Until later, remember to keep Scrappin2Heaven.

Rock On!

July 7, 2014

It is hot and humid here in New York.  I'm off from work today, since I had to take my youngest daughter for her yearly physical.  It's tough coordinating the timing for their checkups, cause they can't be late for school and since they have to get blood work done, you don't want them going all day without eating.  So now that school is out, it was the perfect time.

Any who, here's a card I made.  I have very  few masculine cards in my stash, so I made this one.  Not sure who I'm going to give it to, but I'm trying to use up my stash.  I have a shoe box full of PaperWishes Dazzles, so I used the lettering "you rock" from that stash.  The stamp is  from Greeting Farms and is called Logan and I colored him with my copics.  The background is die cut with my Spellbinders Labels 10 due.

Hope you enjoyed the card.

Happy Birthday

April 23, 2014

Running low on my stash of birthday cards, so am trying to get some made up.  Here's a card I made using one of my favorite stamps.  This is one of the first stamps I bought when I graduated from scrapbooking to cardmaking.  I colored this cutie with my copic markers and then used Flower Soft and glitter on the flowers she's holding.  I used my stash of flowers that I got from Michaels and cut the branches with a punch set that I have.  The ribbon and design papers are from my stash also.  I forget where I got the cardstock. I know it was either Papertrey Ink (http://www.papertreyink.com/) or Gina K (http://shop.ginakdesigns.com/).

Happy Birthday

Happy March Birthday

March 15, 2014

Happy birthday Brianna!  My brother's girlfriend's daughter is celebrating a birthday this week.  Here's the card I made for her.  The stamp I believe is an Elizabeth Bell, colored in with copic markers, the card stock is from Paper Trey Ink, the sentiment is from Annie's Cardmaking Kit.  The design paper is from my stash. As I said last post I have a lot of scraps that I'm trying to use up.  The flowers I bought from Michaels, I don't remember who made them. I tend to take everything out of its wrapper and put it in a storage bin I have just for flowers.

Enjoy, and keep Scrappin2Heaven.

You Can Do It!

March 13, 2014

Here's a card I made.  I was actually thinking of my oldest child when I made it.  When I look at this stamp from Gina K, I see a woman who is sure of herself and what she wants.  The sentiment inside is also from Gina K and says:

"Overcome the notion that you have to be regular.  It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary."

My daughter is a typical teenager who is trying to fit in with the "popular" kids.  I'm trying to teach her to not lower her standards in order to fit in.  She has a gift of drawing people to her and has a nice personality when she wants to.  I want her to see that she is special and to stop following the wrong crowd and make her own path to success and not failure.  But at age 14 children her age think parents don't know anything.

She's a work in progress and I know that when all is said and done, she's going to make me proud. I love you Rebecca!

Welcome to the World Jayce!

Baby Card

My niece gave birth to a beautiful little boy on Thursday, February 27.  He weighed in at 6 lbs and  8 oz. and 19" long.  This is her 2nd child.  Oldest brother, Jaden, is so, so happy.  Here's the card I made for her.

I'm trying to use up some of the cardstock and design papers I've had sitting around for years.  I really need to make room for new stuff.  The image is colored in with my copics and then cut out and framed with my spellbinder dies.  The pearls on the corners were white and I colored them in with my copic markers.  I like how this came out.  Think I'll make a few more.  There'll always be a need for baby cards.

Have a great day!

Happy Belated Valentines Day

March 2, 2014

I have been having computer issues and can't seem to download the photos of my cards to my blog.  I had created the below Valentine card for my mom and my 2 girls.  I love the 3 of them very much and wouldn't trade them for anything.  My eldest just turned 14 and she's a typical teenager that is straining at the bit as far as obeying authority figures.  We seem to be butting heads a lot lately, but I know that as a parent I need to stand my ground and know that "this too shall pass".

With Deepest Sympathy

February 10, 2014

A close co-worker passed away a couple of weeks ago, along with 2 other co-workers who lost a mother and a father respectively.  You always hope you never need a sympathy card, but it is always good to have them on hand, just in case.

These cards were made using my scraps.  I used some outline stickers and filled them with clear glitter and then colored it in with my copics.  I love this technique and can't wait to do it again.

With Sympathy

January 20, 2014

I saw this technique at the Heirloom Rubber Stamps Convention last year in Allentown, PA.  I finally got a chance to try it out. I love how it came out and I will definitely be trying this again.  The design papers are from my stash.  The stamp set is from Inkadinkado.  The ink is from Colorbox and the color is Twilight. The sentiment is from my stash, I forget where I got it from.  Even though I hope I never have to use this card, it is still good to have on hand.  Have a great day and I'll be back next week with another card.

Another Thank You Card

January 4, 2014

I'm a huge fan of Christina Flowers, Ribbons and Pearls blog.  She has the most beautiful cards and tutorials.  I absolutely love her blog and the cards she makes.  Her is my attempt to make a card similar to hers. I don't think it's as good as her cards, but I like how it turned out.  I used more scraps from my kits, the design paper is from the Annie's Attic Card Maker kit and the flowers are from PaperWishes and Michaels, as is the bling.

Thank You

January 2, 2014

Happy New Year everyone.  Wishing you all a healthy and prosperous New Year.

Here's a quick thank you card I put together.  Still trying to use up scraps on bits and pieces I have left over from the different card kits I get.  I kind of like how this turned out, and it's a clean and simple card.  Love you guys.  Keep Scrappin2Heaven.
